Dr Simon Holbrook, BMSc MBChB MRCP FRCA PGDip MEd FFICM, qualified in 1995 from the University of Dundee. He was a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Leeds from 2005. He has been a substantive Consultant in Anaesthesia since September 2008, initially at St. James’s University Hospital. He has lived in Harrogate since 2004 and began working at Harrogate District Hospital in 2010 in order to pursue his special interest in Intensive Care Medicine. He is the Medical Lead for the Critical Care Outreach Team and is currently the Deputy Director of Postgraduate Medical Education. Dr Abhinav Kant, MBBS FRCA FHEA, qualified in medicine in 2003 from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He has been a substantive Consultant Anaesthetist at Harrogate District Hospital since February 2013 where he is also the Clinical Lead for Regional Anaesthesia. He also has an interest in Academic Anaesthesia and maintains strong research and education roles with the University of Leeds.
He is a keen post-graduate clinical educator, being an educational supervisor in anaesthetics, and a faculty member on national postgraduate courses.

Dr Sarah Marsh, MBChB FRCA FFICM, is a consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, qualifing from the University of Leeds in 2002 and commencing her post as a Consultant Anaesthetist at Harrogate District Hospital in 2012. Sarah’s main interest is in intensive care including the outreach care of the acutely ill in a ward based setting and the follow up of patients who have been critically ill.
She also has a keen interest in medical education and training. She is an educational supervisor at Harrogate Hospital and runs a number of national courses for the post graduate exams of trainee anaesthetists.
Dr Mark Simenacz, MBChB FRCA MMedsci, trained at the University of Leeds, qualifying in 1990. During his training in anaesthetics he was a Neurosurgical Fellow and completed a Masters in Science. Prior to taking up his current post he worked as a Consultant Anaesthetist at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA.
He has been a consultant at Harrogate District Hospital since 2001 and is Clinical Lead for Acute Pain, with a keen interest in enhanced recovery anaesthesia.

She has been a substantive Consultant Anaesthetist at Harrogate District Hospital since August 2012 where she holds positions as Clinical Leads for the Day Surgery Unit and for Paediatric Anaesthesia.
She is also a keen postgraduate medical educator, being an educational supervisor, and a faculty member on postgraduate clinical and medical management courses.

Dr Brian Withington, MB BCh BAO FRCA, qualified from Queen’s University in 1989 and, having been awarded a cadetship with the Royal Air Force, spent the following five years performing general medical officer duties on a flying station in Lincolnshire.
He commenced his anaesthetic training in the RAF and was appointed as a substantive consultant in Hull in 2002. In 2005 he moved to Harrogate and as well as clinical duties has held several higher management positions. His clinical interests include ophthalmology and orthopaedic surgery.
